COURSE LEARNING

  1. Identify, select necessary materials and perform electrical wiring of special lamp circuits.
  2. Identify the resistors, capacitors, compute and measure their values.
  3. Identify, select necessary materials and perform electrical wiring for power circuits.
  4. Identify the terminals, parts of a battery, measure the battery voltage, perform earthing and measure earth resistance.

  2. Sketch the performance characteristics of DC Motors by conducting suitable Tests.
  3. Apply various speed control methods on DC motors.
  4. Draw and interpret the performance characteristics of DC Generators by Conducting suitable   experiments.

  1. Compare calibrated meter readings with standard meters.
  2. Illustrate the methods of range extension in A.C. & D.C. meters.
  3. Interpret the various methods to measure unknown resistance.
  4. Demonstrate various methods of measuring power in three phase circuit.

COURSE LEARNING

  1. Evaluate the performance of single phase transformer by conducting suitable tests.
  2. Analyze the load sharing between two Single phase transformers when they are operated in parallel
  3. Familiarize with Three phase Transformers
  4. Determine the dielectric strength of transformer oil
  5. Determine  regulation of an Alternator by conducting suitable tests
  6. Synchronise the given Alternator with Supply Mains

  4. Draw the single line diagram of the Substations.

COURSE LEARNING

  1. Identify the parts of A.C motor starters.
  2. Draw and interpret the performance characteristics of single phase and three phase AC Motors by Conducting load test.
  3. Draw the circle diagram on AC Motors by conducting suitable experiments.
  4. Identify and rectify faults in AC motors.
  5. Prepare estimation for a given load by using Government SSR as per BIS norms.

COURSE LEARNING

  1. Acquire knowledge on specified Power electronic devices and use them.
  2. Use Single phase Half wave and full wave converters for R loads
  3. Control the speed of DC motors using converters and choppers
  4. Control the speed of AC motors using AC voltage controller & V/F controller.
  5. Acquire knowledge on inverters

COURSE LEARNING

  1. Identify the main components of the PLC module, configure the drivers and perform ON/OFF control logic task using PLC.
  2. Develop the ladder logic program for logic gates, download it to the PLC and run the program
  3. Develop the ladder logic program for timer & counter functions, download it to the PLC and run the program
  4. Execute the ladder programs for PLC based model applications
