Course objectives: To provide practical knowledge about the basics of Physics instrumentation and calculations/measurements.

Understand Screw Gauge principle and calculate accurate measurement of thickness of various thin objects | |
Understand vectors and resultant of vectors and verify Parallelogram law of forces and Triangle law of forces | |
Understand the concept of viscosity and calculate Coefficient of viscosity of a liquid by capillary method | |
Verify Boyle’s law employing Quill tube. |

· Determine the value of acceleration due to gravity using simple pendulum and verify with L-T2graph. | |
· Determine the velocity of sound in air at room temperature and calculate velocity of sound at 00 C. | |
· Determine the refractive index of a solid using travelling microscope. | |
· Practice the mapping of magnetic lines of force-locating neutral points and calculate magnetic moment. |
Prerequisite:
Knowledge of basic concepts of chemistry of secondary education.
Course Objectives:
To provide practical knowledge about the basics of preparation of chemical solutions and volumetric analysis of chemical compounds.
Course Outcomes:
On successful completion of the course, the student will have ability to attain CO:
· Prepare the standard solution. | |
· Estimate the amount of the HCl in the given sample of solutions | |
· Estimate the amount of the NaOH in the given sample of solutions. | |
· Estimate the amount of the H2SO4in the given sample of solutions. | |
· Determine the hardness of water in the given sample. |

Course Objectives:

Course Outcomes:
